  • Worst Vehicle Ever - 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT
    By -

The first year of ownership was great...after that it went totally downhill! It has been in the shop more than all of my previous vehicles combined. Air bag problem, emblem fell off, rear wiper went bad, bumper warped and was replaced, steering problem that cant seem to be fixed, fuel tank replaced, three of the doors have had panels replaced (a couple more than twice) and Im sure to suffer from more. Glad I bought an extended warranty since I have used it twice already. Cant get rid of it since the value isnt worth anything.

  • Finally out of the minivan! - 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT

Yes, we finally got rid of the van! With three kids and a dog we wanted somethig with 3rd row seating. Wanted a midsize SUV, compared to Explorer with 3rd seat which seemed like a good vehicle but no room behind 3rd seat. The TrailBlazer was cheaper and had tons more room in the back. Very comfortable driving and very roomy. This vehicle has a nice sounding stereo and is nice to look at. So far we are very pleased. I am also 64" and plenty of head and leg room, even in back.

  • Love this truck - 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT

I love this truck. I looked at every SUV available. Was leaning towards the Pilot but wanted to go American. The ride is great, doesnt bounce you around like a cement truck. Feels big but not huge. Amazing amount of room. Im 63" and have great room up front. Smooth ride, second and third row seats are very roomy. Actual space behind the third row! Stereo is awesome- I will be keeping the XM radio! The DVD system keeps the kids happy. Not sure about mileage yet, but expectations for this size SUV are not high! Engine is smooth, quiet and powerful. Only nit pick is no floor mat for the third row? If you are looking for an SUV, all you need is a drive to convince you.

Definitely more bang for the buck. Very functional in design and the most comfortable 3rd row seat ever. This SUV will turn on a dime. Any family should feel safe riding in this vehicle.

  • Why did you stop making them? - 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT

Bought my Trailblazer used from the dealer. Have been back and forth a good few times to the beach, and such and running errands. Biggest problems thus far were with tires (cheap foreign knock offs, one blew out on me and the belt wasnt even steel, it was fabric!) and a pulley bearing for the serpentine belt. I would say to Chevy Blazer/Trailblazer concept is sound, however get your parts somewhere else because it does not take an engineer to figure out that plastic will NOT last 100,000+ miles. Other than that, powertrain and drivetrain have been good overall. Has Bose radio and RSE system in back, AC is Ice cold. Snow driving has been fun, and has held the road even in drifts.

  • Wouldnt buy another one. - 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT

We bought our 2006 Trailblazer approximately 3 years ago, so the vehicle would have been 3 years old. Since that time we have had to replace the switch for the windows because they quit working. Now the motor acts like it will give out anytime. The heater fan at a cost of $400, the fuel gauge quit, which is quite the production because they have to drop the whole fuel tank. Chevrolet does have a recall since they have had this problem often so they will reimburse you for half. My check engine light comes on every so often along with the "skid" light. When they decide to they dont go off for awhile. Now it is rusting on the doors.

  • Good News & Bad News - 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT
    By -

Good News: Has lot of power, and its comfortable for 3 kids, and 2 dogs. Bad News: 1 week after purchase, the air bag light kept coming on. Needed a new sensor. Then the OnStar would not work properly. Had to have that fixed. This winter, the molding on the hatch broke, last month, the starter was stuck. Luckily this was all under warranty. Not too happy with my Blazer being in the shop 4 times since the purchase of it 5 months ago.

  • Serious accident - 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT
    By -

Had a serious accident. I was hit on drivers side front tire full length of drivers side. $12000 in damage, but the good news is no injuries. No jarring inside. Nobody got a scrape or scratch or even a bruise, This thing totally protected us and there was no damage inside. I would definetly buy another one. They are fixing this one, but it gave us total protection in the accident. You cant beat that, and the damage was all cosmetic. The other car was totalled.

  • LOVE IT - 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT
    By -

Love this vehicle - plenty of room for our family of 6. Other than routine maintenance (oil changes, brakes, tires) our only service issue has been replacing battery and front wheel bearings at 6 year mark. No complaints here :) This has been a very versitile and reliable vehicle for us.

  • Workhorse - no glamour - 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT

Guzzles gas (not good right now), no frills, reliable workhorse. I would not buy another one though, as I do not feel it is value for the price.
